Job Description

Do you want to work in an environment that is dynamic and constantly evolving? Lanla is a growing organization in the market-research sector, which specializes in client management and client-satisfaction measurement. To support our growth, we are looking for an Accounting Clerk to add to our evolving team. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer and the Director of Operations, the Accounting Clerk will assist with day-to-day financial operations and will work to ensure the smooth coordination of financial transactions at Lanla. The Accounting Clerk’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • accounts payable and receivable monitoring and functions;
  • performing business transactions (such as accounts payable and receivable) using Quick Books Online;
  • liaising with suppliers and facilitating the verification and resolution of any discrepancies;
  • managing communications with customers and suppliers by telephone, email and in-person;
  • coordinating, validating and processing time-sheets, invoices and bank information for sub-contractors. Preparing monthly payment files for online processing and processing payments to subcontractors via cheques. Following required protocol for annual T4As;
  • invoicing, tracking payments, writing-off monies not collected and performing month-end closing procedures;
  • carrying out monthly reconciliation of all corporate credit cards, following up with staff to retrieve and verify receipts as required;
  • participating in audits, verifying the accuracy of financial documents;
  • assisting in the recording and tracking of capital assets by working closely with the Management;
  • archiving financial documents;
  • managing miscellaneous administrative tasks, such as office supplies, in-office purchasing, mail collection, scanning of documents, etc.;
  • other assigned tasks on an as-needs basis.

Required Profile

  • Diploma in Accounting
  • Knowledge of accounting software (Quick Books Online)
  • Working knowledge of both English and French; ability to work in bilingual environment
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Ability to manage several tasks at once and set priorities as needed to achieve outcomes
  • Excellent team-work skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and with rigour
  • Desire and ability to work in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment
